Monday 22nd July

 

A day dedicated to all practical aspects of film making and acting on film.



​Film makers will have the opportunity to work with experienced directors,

​casting directors  and actors. They can then showcase their films to an industry

​panel for instant feedback and advice.

​Actors will be able to gain experience in front of the camera working with both

​the newer filmmakers and the mentor director, and a casting director. 

Please make sure you bring your showreel link together with C.V and photos to any day you attend.

​

​An industry panel will discuss the short films and this will be followed by a casting workshop for corporate

​and commercial work .

​

The day:

​

• 10 am: Bootcamp hour:  Showreels , editing showreels, for both actors and directors, preliminary talk about casting for film and tv. The importance of casting in any project, led by the casting director Carolyn Mcleod.



• 11.30-1.30 ​Leading to workshop led by Lawrence Moody on directing actors on camera and acting on camera. All through the interactive sessions we will have a cameraman with a digital camera present.

• 1.30-2.00 Screening of three short films

​

• 2.00-5.00: Chris Jones and David Wilkinson, will be talking about how to get your first feature made, the gap between writing your screenplay and getting your film produced. Also establishing links between actors and screenwriters and directors through the club and the London screenwriting festival.

 

• 5.00-7.00pm: Claire Toeman  from Crocodile Casting will be offering an interactive

​workshop on casting in commercials and for corporate work.

​

There will be a cameraman present throughout the day.



Carolyn Mcleod

​Carolyn has cast numerous films and T.V films including : Aeon Flux,Shooting Dogs and Harry Potter and the Philospher's Stone. Her T.v credits include The Bill, the Monster trilogy and Monkey King.



Laurence Moody

Laurence Moody is an English Television director who has directed nearly every well-known television series in the UK, including Coronation Street, Waterloo Road, The Bill, Casualty, Emmerdale and Footballers Wives. Having had a successful career as a film director, Laurence still works extensively as well as teaching.

 

David NicholasWilkinson

. David Nicholas Wilkinson is the founder and director of Guerilla Films, a production and distribution company, and is the chairman of Distrify. He has produced and/or distributed up to 150 feature films as well as being a writer and former
actor. David also acts as a consultant for financiers and investors for numerous production companies assisting in development and raising funding.

 

 

Chris Jones

Chris is the founder and co-writer of the highly successful Guerilla Filmmakers book series having sold over 150,000 copies worldwide. So many of today's top filmmakers have acknowledged that these publications greatly helped them make their first film. He runs the world famous London Screenwriters festival.

Claire Toeman

Claire Toeman, along with Tracie Saban have made crocodile casting into one of the UK’s leading casting companies, casting for Coca Cola, Special K, Heineken and Talk Talk commercials . Before the company was established in 1996, Claire was an actress appearing in various television series and the films Moonlighting and Jack & Sarah .
